Launched as the latest addition to Sony Ericsson’s popular Xperia range, the Xperia arc promises to be “the world’s most entertaining smartphone”. Previously code-named the Xperia X12, the arc is Sony Ericsson’s first Gingerbread-powered smartphone, offering a hoard of high-end tech and impressive specs. The handset offers a whopping 4.2 inch “Reality Display”, which uses Sony’s Bravia Mobile Engine to offer crisp and vibrant images at 854 x 480 pixels.
Despite its advanced touchscreen, the Xperia arc offers a curved chassis, measuring in at just 8.7mm thick at it’s skinniest point. It may not pack a dual-core processor, but Sony Ericsson’s latest Xperia handset has a hefty 1GHz Snapdragon processor under the hood, boosting its multimedia experience. This is helped even further by the handset’s 8.1 megapixel camera with Exmor R CMOS sensor and 720p HD video capture, its USB and HDMI connectivity and its beefed-up 1500mAh battery.
Once launched in Q1 2011, the Sony Ericsson Xperia arc will be available in both Misty Blue and Misty Silver.
